Hereditary Habits
When we were kids, Mum used to have a similar type of monaural radio. It stood on the kitchen counter and I remember it being switched on most of the time and tuned in to her favourite station.
I seem to have inherited that habit: this bright red eton set sits on a shelf in our kitchen. When I come home, switching it on is usually the second thing I do, after taking off my shoes and dropping my keys in a bowl on the same shelf.
Good reception too, but then perhaps that's because we can actually see the CBC radio tower from the living room window: it's only a mile away.
