Not Random Destruction

This is not random destruction - it's actually quite systematic, since most Montreal bus stops rather look like this. I took a couple of other pictures that showed the floor of this bus stop littered with stuff that people had just thrown there.

The city doesn't seem to do much about the general untidiness of public spaces (lack of funds, perhaps; lack of vision and leadership, definitely). And winter is a good excuse: sidewalk dust bins are no longer emptied, or they are taken away "so as not to hinder snow removal".

This picture was taken in the bright morning sun as I was waiting for the bus at the Papineau stop. I like the reflected trees in the upper part of the glass pane.
