Grit

The surface 'grit' on the new ramp, erected this week by Mother Comfort's diligent son, made me think of his grit as he presses on to make her home as inviting as possible for her return. He has been, and is, truly amazing!

Today....drum roll please....she returned for a visit and supper! She approved heartily of the carpet, the new garage door and the ramp. She loved her soup...made her way...but most of all, it was Pepsi she had come to see, and Pepsi she saw.

I truly think it would have worked out fine for us to drop her off to visit the cat, then pick her up a couple hours later! She was as happy as could be, and Pepsi was equally thrilled to see her...even followed her down the hall until she saw us then scampered back to her hiding place.

Very grateful, was I, to awaken without a headache today. Since my sinuses are off kilter, the pain returned by the end of the evening, but a sinus headache, not a migraine. They come in clusters for me, I'll get past it. But for now, I'm just very grateful that all went well and Mother Comfort returned happily to her temporary Adult Foster Home where there are ladies older than she is and people available 24 hrs a day to get her what she needs and help her get through her days. She is enjoying them, but hates to admit it. We're still not sure what to do about the tendency she has to forget and the belief that she will need some help to get home (and her vacillation between acknowledging that and denying it) but for this phase of the process, and for now, all is well.
