Deathfest

I went up to the Southbank Centre today and spent the day there listening to loads of really interesting talks about death - not as morbid as it sounds! It was more a case of trying to encouraging people to be more open and comfortable about talking about it as it's an experience we all share in one form or another.

It started off with an introduction by the creative director and a poet shared s0me of his work, and then we went to see a series of Death Bites sessions. The speakers each gave a 15 minute talk on various subjects like obituary writing, death in computer games, cryogenics, the 27 group etc etc. My favourite thing was a debate held by Jon Snow on assisted death which raised some really difficult questions but also several unexpected funny moments.
