Bulby.
This is all that's left of the bell tower which used to sit on the factory at the bottom of our street. When we moved into the village it was already in ruins and some years back the whole thing was taken down. They retained the bell housing as part of the development of houses that sprang up in its place.
Latterly the building was known as the Bulby (bulb farming) or the bone factory (rather gruesome sounding, but I think it referred to the time when the factory produced bone meal hence the alternative description you sometimes find ... the chemical works).
Anyway, if you look through the bell housing you can see Kinpurney Tower. Thought to be one of a set of trig points (Belmont Castle and Privy's Prap), it's a pretty obvious landmark in these parts. They reckon that on a good day you can see 13 munros from the summit.
