Old bird.
I spent my birthday in Hyde Park, feeding squirrels as they climbed up my leg, pigeons as they landed on my arm and small birds as they fed from my hand.
In Hyde Park the wild life is not. It could be called socialised, hand tame, cheeky and friendly - but wild? Um, no. Animals have an amazing way of adapting to their environment, making the best use of available resources, and sometimes this means becoming bolder and manipulating the humans that share their little part of the world.
Manipulating seems a harsh word. In fact I would say I was honoured to have so many creatures accept me and my offerings, and it put a smile on this old bird's face for the rest of the day.
