Sinking Star
On my way home from work I was keeping my eye on the sky, particularly the sunset which was turning out to be somewhat beautiful.
My journey consists (usually) of a few miles of motorway then several more miles of dual carriageway - a more boring journey is hard to imagine. As I turned into the lane I live down I looked again at the sky and pulled up straight away to take a picture.
The sky was fire orange with streaks of salmon pink, and the sun was a huge radiant disc, shimmering and magnificent. I rootled around in my bag to find no camera, only my iPhone so took a few snaps with it, but to be honest the iPhone is worse than useless for this kind of shot. So, I dived back into the car and hurled it down the lane - which is really only suitable for slightly faster than stationary. Two minutes later I pulled up outside my home, ran into the house, grabbed my camera and ran out again into the garden to where I know I get a good view of the sunset.
The result is above. I consider this to be my first lesson in blipping - never leave home without your camera!
