Scraping the barrel here I'm afraid with this photo, and am losing my enthusiasm for spending so much time on photography *every*day*. Even after over a year of this daily routine, it still takes me a good while to produce a photo I am half comfortable sharing with the world. When I started this at the beginning of last year, I was learning a lot more about photography and getting to know my camera. It was a valuable exercise. But recently I've not been putting in any extra time to learn and develop more, so apart from the discipline of the routine, and the record of a day, I'm not getting much out of this anymore. In fact it's at the cost of the time I would otherwise spend reading and researching all the other stuff I'm interested in. A prime example is how I haven't visited or discovered anything new architecturally in months, as is clear from my photos. I used to regularly visit the decrepit, the unloved, and the mid century I'd unearthed. But editing and producing a photo has usurped the time I need for that reading, and I'm much the poorer for it.
And so to today's photo. I didn't seek out any new subject matter or have any original ideas for a photo, so ended up at the end of the day in the frustrating position of having taken no photos and having no motivation to go and do anything about it, hence the crappy Photo Booth shot. Be thankful I didn't use the Stretch effect or something equally grotesque.
