I had a really peaceful, relaxing time sweeping leaves and digging a small section of earth in the garden today, preparing to plant some winter flowers. The clay soil was moist and cold and full of delicious, fat, shiny worms. Later, in the land of domesticity, we succeeded in building a very tall and heavy Ikea kitchen cabinet, and even stood it upright without it collapsing. And we were still speaking to each other by the end of it. Remarkable.
