Apart from a lodge, which is disused and falling down, it is only these gates that remain.
Ravensworth Castle was built in the 14th century, and had the coal owners not extracted coal from underneath it, and so caused subsidence, we might now have a beutiful place to visit, especially with its woodland surroundings.
