T is for Tuesday and also for .......

...... Tongue.

Please say hi to Shadow Dancer my adorable Northern Inuit dog - today not quite so adorable as he decided to drop his ball down the banking into the inky, stinky dyke and then go and get it!!! Note his dirty tongue and VERY dirty legs - not only dirty but very, very unpleasant aroma-wise.

There will be many more posts of Shadow ...... we rescued him on January 21st 2009 from a "not very nice life" - he was three and a half years old, had been in the rescue kennels for eight months, did not know what a toy was or how to play, didn't seem to have climbed stairs or been walked on a lead.

We spent the first six months trying to find something for him to eat that did not upset his stomach and then the next three months refining his diet so we could afford to feed him - he still cannot eat beef based dog foods - oddly we have found that sardines in sunflower oil are always welcome and eaten with mucho gusto!

Now - he has more toys than Hamleys, can run up and down stairs for England, wants to play all the time and immediately sits when his lead comes out! What a difference a day makes, as they say - or, in this case, what a difference three years and a lot of patience and loving makes.

To be honest I went out looking for T for Trees - all very boring and no colour in the sky to set them off ..... so T for Tongue is has to be.
