BethaBlip 61...
This is my monthly track of my children as they grow to see how they change as time goes by. I take the same photo in the same place each 1st and 15th of each month along with a wee diary of what has happened and how life has progressed for each of them. Bethany on the 1st and Ewan on the 15th. It is quite remarkable and is accentuated by the 1 year ago thumbnail down in the bottom right.
The homework is coming thick and fast this month. Bethany's reading is coming along. She's into the level 4 ORT (Oxford Reading Tree). For this she gets a sheet home with a list of the level 4 words and she has to practice recognizing them. She also gets a reading book home every week which follows the adventures of a family of Mum, Dad and three children, Biff, Chip and Kipper. Most stories also incorporate their dog Floppy as well.
Staying on the homework theme, there's usually themes to the homework. In the run up to Burns night, we had some scottish themed homework assignments. Bethany had to learn Robin, Robin Reidbriest. There has been a load of bird themed homework in light of the BBC Garden Bird Watch thing that was going on. We had to get photos of birds in the garden that we'd left food for. We made up some fat balls and got some brill photos. We also visited Vane Farm, the local RSPB nature reserve.
Her reading and writing is coming along rather well and it is wonderful watching her learn. I spent a brilliant 15 minutes or so just watching her read from her library book, going over the sentences again and again, getting that little bit further each time. Her writing is still at the rudimentary stage but it is odd seeing the wee intricacies such as putting h's and d's the wrong way around.
