Jumeirah Beach

Not my usual type of seascape at all, but a lovely place to find oneself in the middle of January. The weather at this time in Dubai is rather like a wonderful Scottish summer - we had a maximum of 24ºC, with that perfectly blue sky and the sea chilly enough to make me think of Kames in July.

I would have thought that the huge towers lining The Walk behind the beach area oppressive, but in truth they seemed not to matter as we walked along the water line collecting shells and feeling the heat of the sun.
