Lapwings

By the time I realised it really was a flock of Lapwings, stopped, turned the car round and driven back to a gateway, they were taking off. This was the only photo I managed before they were far too far away.

Last winter I saw on or two Lapwings, but this is the first time I have seen a flock since childhood, when they used to follow the plough.

There were also a number of gulls and rooks feeding in the same field.

I will return and try to get some better shots, but just had to blip this today.
