Unfortunate Circumstance
A couple of months ago the same severe storm system that caused much damage and some fatalities just 60 miles away wreaked minor havoc at mine and the neighbors' places. Several trees that had been nurtured and treated with utmost care proved no match for the violent winds. So now, with accomodating weather, a smooth running saw and appropriate inclination all in place, it was time to take down the hazards and remove the partial obstruction from my workshop driveway.
A recurring theme in my blips has been my affinity for the woodlands of this little piece of the earth. Even as I sit on this log and look at the emerging young trees around me I still regret to see this specimen on the ground for no good purpose. By my count this tree is my senior by ten years at least, wrecked in it's prime by sad misfortune.
I think in coming weeks I'll plant something.
