I shall always love Dorset!
Last night was excruciatingly cold! A neighbouring farmer could not feed his livestock this morning with the tractor and feeder wagon as the diesel in the engine had frozen! Luckily for us that was not the case, just one water trough in the calves yard needed some attention.
T and his shooting companions went off this morning to a farm near Salisbury to look at the different types of cover that can be grown for gamebirds. N and I decided to treat ourselves since it was a perfect winter's day so we drove over the Dorset Downs with Tess and had lunch at a favourite pub at Sydling St Nicholas. Afterwards we walked the footpath up behind the church to look at the view. Tess of course enjoyed the walk as much as we did. The light was magical and the beech trees made a change to the oak trees that grow on our heavy clay!
We arrived home the same time as T. He had had an interesting day and of course was full of new ideas for the autumn!
