Got the hump
Now that's not something you see every day.
Very very cold today. I know I said that yesterday, but that was before I knew how cold it would be today. Still minus 5.5 at 10.30am. By the time this photo was taken (about 4pm) the temperature had crashed through the zero barrier to all of +0.5 C. I was underwhelmed. However, the bright blue skies and sunshine made it feel much less cold, even though it was in fact colder, and I managed to get loads done.
Now we have Katherine's friend here and the kids are stuffing themselves silly with haribo and curly wurlies while watching Raiponce (Rapunzel) and giggling inanely at jokes that I don't get. Soon I will be sent into the chilly depths of the house to forage for hot popcorn, but I just have time to mention the pm show (news magazine show on Radio 4) playing Cars "Drive" as its intro tonight. Hilarious.
(By the time I explain that a UK Minister has resigned because he is going to be prosecuted over allegations that he had his then wife take the fall for a speeding penalty that should have been his, it will appear less funny. Almost as fun as their playing Mandy one of the time Peter Mandelson resigned. Yes, I know, I'm easily pleased. But that's the virtue of having Radio 4 droning away all day - it doesn't take much to amuse me.)
