In the forest

We walked in Glentress Forest this morning, ambitiously aiming to do a large circuit. The path led through dense pine woods, which, en masse, have a deadening effect on the surroundings - and not many photo opportunities. I know the Forestry Commission are now trying to diversify their new planting, but its bound to take a long time.

Of course we did not make it all around the circuit and got to the 'shall we go on or turn back?' decision. The lure of the cafe at the foot of the hill was too strong, so we turned around and headed for coffee and macaroni cheese.
