Our life in the Borders

Battered primrose

The blip should have been the mist lifting off the trees around the Peebles Hydro, after my swim, - but no camera of course. Instead we have this bedraggled primrose, crushed in by the fence and knocked around by the recent low temperature, just about the only splash of spring colour in the garden so far.

I dug in some very late daffodil bulbs that I've been given. Our new garden has some splendid plants, but strangely seems to lack spring bulbs, so there may not be many flowers this spring, but the bulbs will get established for another year.

The primrose may have to do for this spring.
