A Great Reader

As a child and into adult life I was what is what is known as a "great reader" but this hasn't been true for more than twenty years. I'm more of a doer and maker though if away from home on a leisurely holiday or laid up I revert to type. I was up till after three this morning because I HAD to finish Zoe Heller's "The Believers". Note to self - do not take can't-stop-reading-book to bed unless I have 50 pages or less to get through. Also waiting to go back to the library Ford Madox Ford's "The Good Soldier" a strange and strangely told tale with hints of Henry James and Edith Wharton about it; it's the sort of early C20th book I enjoy, a glimpse of a world just out of reach.
