Snowdrops but no snow drops

This is the only white stuff we've got outside!
We've been spared the snow and have instead had a comparatively warm day here.
While I'm typing this, the BBC weatherman has just said, 'Half of the country will have been wondering what all the fuss is about.'
Yup.
Tess is jealous but that's about it. I just want the roads to stay clear for Richard's significant* birthday on Wednesday so we can walk to the pub and they will actually have food!

It's been a weekend of a 2-day birthday for Gemma, teenagers' house guests, trying to keep Tess occupied, washing, washing and washing, and reorganising my life a bit**.
I lost a good portion of yesterday evening trying to find Joel's floor so his friend could kip on it. They spent the evening sitting next to each other on their respective laptops seemingly ignoring each other. But apparently they weren't. This also involved some talking to other people who weren't in the house which was strange... They're teenage boys - I'm not supposed to understand them, right?

I'm now feeling superbly happy that Call the Midwife is on TV tonight and can't wait to flop in front of the TV for an hour soon.

*(whispers) It's his half-century. We are still coming to terms with it so are just whispering it for now. If he asks, I didn't tell you.
