Journeys day by day

Summer days

Third day in a row of 60+ temps in the afternoon. I had to resist the urge to get the garden ready for spring as we very likely could get another deep freeze before winter is done.

Went to one of the local lakes about 5 minutes from me, one I haven't explored since I started blipping. Got plenty of lovely shots, there were several hooded merganser pairs, some buffleheads, ring necked ducks and even a pair of double-crested cormorants. Got some nice crow shots, as well as a Canada goose, a kinglet that was swooping and scolding me, some fox and chipping sparrows, and besides all that the lake was glass so nice reflective qualities.

However, I got home and the squirrel that's been gone for a couple months paid a visit today. He was in the end too cute not to blip, as the waterfowl shots are always iffy since I can't get too close to the birds. He's an Eastern Gray Squirrel, the most common in the area.
