Muscovy duck
I will name him George, and I will hug him and pet him and squeeze him...
Off to the pond during lunch and look what I found! Someone was already there photographing him. Luckily she knew what it was so I wasn't spending time later on the web trying to figure it out. What I did learn was that it's a common domesticated and eating duck, but there are wild Muscovy that have moved up from Mexico and South America and are thriving here and there in parks.
He was just a doll. I sat on the bench for a bit and he nibbled my shoes and my camera strap, and I snapped away. This actually isn't my favorite shot, but it's the best one of all of him and that's what I'd like to show off. He nibbled on my hand, they don't seem to have teeth like geese do as it didn't hurt at all. He's about as big as a goose though. I could have stayed there all day hanging out.
