My Day, My Life

For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)

Today, Monday 6th February marks the 60th anniversary of the death of King George VI.

It's also 60 years since HRH Elizabeth became our Monarch, although she wasn't officially crowned until 1953.

I'm sure for a large majority of us she's been Queen our whole life, or longer!

Imagine working for sixty years in the same job (whether you liked it or not!). Of course I'm sure it's had it's perks.

Well, up and down the country today the army have been firing salutes of various lengths in recognition of that achievement.

Here in Edinburgh Castle today it was a Twenty Gun Salute at 12 o'clock.

So blippers, for viewing today i present you with one of them. (it was a lot louder than it looks)
Think 1812 overture and you'll get the idea. ;)
