Casino Flares

I don't really know what these are called but every hour, on the hour, after dark, these flares are lit and perform a sequence (which varies). Locals and tourists come out to watch them. They are in front of the Casino Precinct.... which includes many restaurants and shops as well as the Casino.

A couple of years ago, we stayed in a room just across the river and you could still feel the heat (and hear the whoosh) from over there.

It is quite a spectacle though.

I spent the afternoon watching our VFL team (reserves, sort of) play, once I had found them. Same newspaper as yesterday gave the wrong venue! I'm almost tempted to write a letter! At least we won!
