Portrait of a young man

Edgar to be precise. I've been reading about sensors and low light photography. So I thoiught I would have a go at a low light portrait without flash. It's quite difficult late at night. I can see it has possibilities in daylight by a window but my results by ordinary overhead lights were 'noisy'. So plan B was to use a little speedlight - Nikon SS400 bounced off the ceiling. This works fine and is much easier.

Step 2 is to process. My usual "sauce" was too sharp so after a few attempts I resorted to Lucis Pro and converting to Mono with Nik Silver Effex.

Still learning! But I'm pleased with this.
