THE SWAN AT THE FROZEN POND

is one of many swans and geese and coots that sit and sleep and be fed near a big hole in the ice.
The sun has disappeared and the sky is light grey, it is still cold, so I will not yet go to the sea.

The play of yesterday evening was about the siege of Amsterdam round 1300. Not much happens at the stage, what has happened is told by the characters in verses on rhyme.

My haiku:

Round and round I walk
The birds waiting and sleeping
Dark ice and water

The proverb from Hobbes:

Force and fraud are in war the two cardinal virtues.
