Off Camera Flash

I was reading the manual for my Canon 7D and learned that I can control my strobe unit remotely. I have rarely liked the effect achieved with my flash, especially when it is located on the hot shoe. I experimented with off camera techniques learning about positioning the flash and adjusting the settings to get the photo I desired. In this shot, the flash was placed to the left of the flower and the exposure reduced by two stops. I really like the side light and feel the overall exposure is correct, providing nice colors and good contrast. I can see using my strobe unit much more now that I am able to use it away from my camera.
