North to South

Our intention today was to make our way to Wellington to overnight prior to catching the ferry to South Island. It was a journey of 6 hours - but to travel through such scenery in the sunshine was no hardship. We arrived in good time and were able to catch an evening ferry and arrived in Picton at 9.30pm. The crossing was like a cruise through the Cook Straits (3hrs) and the scenery was breath taking as the sun was setting. We travelled up through lots of little islands - almost fjord-like.
