travelling south

We continue south following the coastal road and railway line on our way to Kaikoura. The coastline is quite spectacular - turquoise sea and angry - looking surf - very similar to northern Cornwall. The Marlborough region has acres of vineyards and we are seeing lots of sheep and wool related industries. There are huge managed pine forests and lots of logging stations - most of the rural homes are made of feather board and are above ground on timber foundations.
We found a good site on the sea front and in the afternoon played golf - all very casual here - 5 and even a 6 ball went out and flip-flops seemed to be quite acceptable ! Used the site BBQ and had a great rib eye - delicious
