Spooning
We arrived in New Orleans after two flights and some 22 hours after leaving home - tired, weary, but nevertheless expectant.
The immediate impact New Orleans had on us renewed our stamina and we couldn't resist going out on the town as midnight was fast approaching. Bourbon Street was our intended destination. It was only just beginning to spring to life.No where else in the world have I felt the atmosphere that exists there. It is truly unique. So many bars and clubs, yet the majority of folks are simply strolling along the street taking it all in.You feel ALIVE no matter how exhausted you felt previously.
This was my first trip back since the year Katrina hit(2005) and it was lovely to see that this area at least had suffered little damage and that visitors were starting to stream back again.Music is everywhere and ranges from sophisticated jazz through to street entertainers like the two locals in the picture.
