cultivate thankfulness

The Iraqi flag I ordered came to me in the United States shipped all the way from The Republic of China and made in Vietnam. Comical, so very comical.

"I do not read the reviews, no I am not singing for you." Theme for my day, especially in regards to my conversation with my mom.

In my geography lecture we learn of the natural processes of how the earth is in a constant cycle of destroying and rebuilding itself. It got me thinking... As an individual who values the preservation our environment in high regard, my values mean nothing to the naturally cataclysmic universe. If Yellowstone blows its top tomorrow, it would devastate North America environmentally. It could wipe out entire species of animals, destroy the Red Woods completely, disrupt multiple ecosystems, not to mention kill countless humans. So the question that smacked me in the face tonight was this-if our world naturally is in a cycle of breaking down and rebuilding, do my efforts of environmental activism even matter? The conclusion I am trying to wrestle with is the idea of relativity. My efforts could affect the immediate generations, but a 1000 yrs down the line it won't matter. This preponderance surely won't stop my efforts of being a good earthly steward, but it does add perplexity to my argument.
