The Lookout!

Never a dull moment in the garden at the moment. There have been upwards of a dozen blackbirds at any given time on the ground feeding. In addition lots of greenfinch, chaffinch, tits and the resident robin. They all get on well apart from the fractious blackbirds who fight and squabble with each other and bully a couple who I suspect are immature females. As it's a 'slow' day I was well entertained for part of the morning just looking out of the kitchen window. My 'blipped' bird repeatedly came on to the birdtable and stood guard fending off all comers and squeezing into the little feeding box beneath intended for the small birds. So that was the morning sorted!
The afternoon walk at least wasn't muddy, far too cold for that. The ground is frozen and icicles on the fences indicate that the temperatures are still below freezing. Just a small dusting of new snow last night but is there more to follow?
Down to The Dog & Gun tonight to stand in front of the fire with a glass of red. Anyone care to join me, I'll be in at 6.30pm!!!
