A Nutty Mystery
I don't know what this is, exactly. But it grows from the hazelnut tree that is right beside our property. In the winter this little thing starts to grow and over the course of time it grows and grows and I am not sure if it is the flower or what it is. But that's what it does in the winter and spring. Then the leaves appear and the nuts grow and the squirrels come and harvest the nuts.
I might add that Oregon is one of the largest producers of hazelnuts in the US.
The rain came back today and it's been a bit of a blah day. So, sadly, a blah blip.
Have a great weekend Blippers. See ya later.
PS As soon as I posted this, just now, the sky brightened a bit, and all sorts of birds are now at the suet. Oh well....another day.
