Fantastic flying flamingoes

After a restful night's sleep in the refugio having been well fed by our cooks - Katarina and Ruth, the group awoke for another day of adventures on the Bolivian salt flats.

Day 2 and the main focus was to visit a number of different lagoons all home to a range of fantastic flying flamingoes. Our lunch stop was at the Honda Lagoon with an altitude of 4,186 metres. There were plenty of flamingoes and we even had a sun rainbow or halo to enjoy.

However, the real highlight came with the last stop of the day at Laguna Colorada. A nice contrast of green banks mixed with hundreds and hundreds of flamingoes. They are such a beautiful bird in flight.
