Falcon disgrace
A shaky blurry shot of a female Peregrine Falcon taken by putting digi compact net to eyepiece of Deeside Diaries spotting scope. Peregrine looks much better in real life, but its great to see these birds in Aberdeen City Centre - this is viewed from our office. The male and female falcons are in their territory now - but there's a big snag. There is construction work on the tower where they have chosen to nest and I fear that we may not see any chicks this year :(
That a species with Schedule I protection can be subjected to such risk is shocking, in fact I'd go so far as saying I think its a falcon disgrace.
