Another Languedoc year...

Woodcutters

As Ali's hurt her back I thought I'd nip up to the land and chainsaw a bootful of wood on my own this morning. We have several cubic metres of four-year-seasoned oak and we cut it as we need it. Frankly, despite a biting wind, the sun shone and it was an utterly pleasurable job. The views are so fantastic it would be hard to miserable.

On the way home I called in to see my Mum. She lives in a cottage in my brother's garden, so it was no surprise to bump into him and his wife. They, too, were busy cutting wood and had much more entertaining headwear than I did. Welcome to a Mediterranean winter.
