King pin
The walk this morning was glorious. Warm - relatively speaking obviously - sun shining and soft clouds whisping this way and that. Birdsong was noticeably more persistent and cheerful and while a foot occasionally sank into a cavity formed by ice the going underfoot was very easy but not yet soft and muddy. I met a few people out enjoying the freshness of the morning and in particular there was one group of mountain bikers who were having fun exploring the different paths. Cara loves meeting folk during her walk and immediately bounds up to them all assuming that everyone wants to be her friend. Sometimes I have to curb her enthusiasm though, as not everyone is keen on a golden bombshell bounding up to them while they are enjoying a quiet stroll. Today's walkers, however, seemed in tune with the day and seemed genuinely pleased to see her.
I took a number of photos mostly from the top as the cloud was moving across the far hills like a temptress, revealing hill tops and then just as quickly, obscuring them again. I decided on this one however as the crow - at least I think that's what he is - stayed at the top of his tree for ages, looking this way and that, simply enjoying the sunshine, the moment and his supremacy. I was envious of his peaceful containment.
The family are due to arrive in an hour's time so I will post this and get some tea ready.
