Banbury canal -marina
Just a quick shot whilst in town today. I heard interesting stories about the canal last night. Apparently when the canal is frozen the boats in short stay moorings don't have to move on. Its because the ice damages the bitumen on the boats-even if they can carve a way through. This has some obvious advantages for those who live in the boats.
This week is half term so there are some intrepid holiday makers who do carve their way down the frozen canal and not only run the risk of ice damage to the moored boats but this also means they are then asked to move on.
It struck me how little we know of other peoples lives as we walk by them.
