Getting away
We have had a nice long time at the beach house; went up on Friday after work, and headed back to the city today. Restful time, although a number of reports and letters occupied my time as did conducting an assessment in Warkworth. Somehow it doesn't feel quite like work when done there!
This morning was dark, and wet, so I finished another report, and then went for a midday run before we headed away. Still overcast, with no sign of any sunshine. Humidity high. Coming along the path above Algies Bay, there was a large juvenile blackback gull sitting on a rock. I got out the camera and managed one shot before it took flight. Swung the camera around following it, and took this picture.
Its not totally crisp in the focus, but I like the angles of the wings and the reflections in the water. I have cropped out excess sea; the limited zoom on the little compact does produce a lot of extra surround in a shot like this. Otherwise this is as it came out of the camera.
