Cactus Heart

Its amazing, you just mention Valentine's and you start seeing hearts everywhere.
This unusual cactus looked beautiful in the early morning sun. Close-up it looks like velvet. I also notice I captured a lot of spider webs in the shot.

I have had this cactus on my Blip list for a while now. It is in the garden of my neighbours who live on the opposite side of the road. Every morning I see it shining in the sunlight but I am rushing to get to school on time. Today son S left his athletics clothes at home and I had to turn around to go and fetch them. While he went back into the house to fetch his bag, I grabbed my camera and took a few photos. I was pleasantly surprised to see the heart shapes but they made the Blip more interesting.

Son S was participating in his District athletics meeting today in the hurdles event. He came in close 3rd which was very good as the competition is getting tougher.

Another very hot day. I think the weather is getting to people - we were all a bit on edge today. I am home now and about to start making fish pie for supper!
