On the bonnie bonnie banks
After our weekend away on the west coast my eldest son has declared a new found love of the outdoors. In the hope of turning this into more than just a whim I packed eldest and youngest into the car this morning with a picnic and all the pens, pencils, pastels and paper I could find. Off we went to Loch Lomond.
We pulled up opposite a stunning rainbow splashing its colours over the distant hills. Magical. We then opened the car doors and the cobwebs were promptly blown away. With gritted teeth and eyes screwed up against the wind we made our way to the shore, unrolled our paper, had fun finding big stones to hold it down with, filled our water pots with loch water and got stuck in. Excellent fun and not a bad picture by the end of it.
Followed this up with a walk in the woods and a Wagon Wheel. Oh and a double scoop ice cream. Apparently I'm the brilliantest mum in the world. Let's see if the dentist agrees when we all go for our check-ups this afternoon. I'm not hopeful.
