Snowdrops gather at the graveside

I walked down to the post office to post my daughter's birthday card and popped into the churchyard to capture this blip. Snowdrops everywhere. The field adjoining the church has a low tree lined bank at the side and this too is smothered in snowdrops, a daily delight in this season when I walked to work. The monument is unusual 1888 and the name is de Chair Baker. Baker was the name of a prominent family who lived in a sizeable house the other side of the church field but it's a common name. I assumed the cross is wooden - it shows the chisel marks - but perhaps it's some other material that's been poured into a mould. I'll give it a pat next time I go.
