Had a really great evening with an old friend of mine tonight. She isn't old but I have known her since we worked on a project together in 1999! We shared a flat in London and had a brilliant year. Stayed in touch ever since and catch up whenever we can. She bought me dinner tonight cos I sorted her out with her new job and the arrange for her to lodge with another friend when she is in Edinburgh.

I think the real sign of a good friendship is when you can go months and months without contact but it doesn't matter. You pick up as if you spoke yesterday an proceed to talk for 4 hrs without a break.

Jeanette ( my friend ) has just left the company I work for and thrown herself into the contract market so I spent my half of the conversation picking her brains about the move and whether I should jump ship or stay put.

Another vote for jumping ship.

Anyway - I should have blipped the lobster I had for my dinner but was talking so much I forgot. So instead it's a macro shot of my Pinot noir :-)
