Filey Brigg
Took B's 97 year old gran out to Filey today for a spot of shopping and a very civilised sandwich lunch at a proper seaside hotel.
She is an amazing woman - bit wobbly on her pins these days, but sharp as a tack, still writes letters to her friends and sends about 200 Christmas cards each year. In her annual birthday party speech last year she said the thing she was most proud of was that none of her family is on benefits....
I really like Filey, it has an only slightly faded gentility and is less brash than Brid or Scarboro' up the coast.
This is the Filey Brigg, which in my rudimentary understanding is a break in the coastline jutting out into the sea and was formed in the jurassic age by glaciers or something.
Have a great weekend blip friends, dashing off to cook a curry.
