FIGGY's Sporadic Blips

By Figgy

A 15 minute walk.......

....from my back door takes you to the shores of Loch Venachar.

Taken from the shore the majestic snow capped A' Bheinn Mheanbh (Ben Venue) can be seen. From the gaelic meaning 'small mountain' Ben Venue is no less outstanding at a mere 727m above sea level.

Although a bit boggy and rocky on higher ground, the ascent is a great walk and the views from the summit are spectacular stretching from the Firth of Forth, the Clyde and Isle of Arran, and the Paps of Jura on a clear day and over Loch Katrine, Ben A'an, Ben More, Stob Binnein, Ben Lomond and Lochs Achray and Venachar.

To the right of the shore line and just out of shot stands Ben Ledi.
