Each of the main reception rooms .....
.....in the mansion house has a grand fireplace. Most are marble although a wooden Adam fireplace survived the fire and is still in situ in what was the family's sitting room.
The entrance hall is dominated by a full height carved wooden fireplace incorporating a working clock (for a future blip) and in the office there is a grey marble fireplace, one of the largest in the house.
In the winter months the fires are lit using wood from the estate. Along with the three large Christmas Trees that are placed around the ground floor of the house this has become very much anticipated by the hundreds of visitors that attend our annual Advent Sale where the residents and students sell their work.
This fender forms part of a green marble fireplace that sits half way down the Gallery.
