Today has sucked

Nothing much to make me smile today. Why is that when things you need to pay for in advance and bills come around you ain't gotta bean?

It's like spreading the last of yer full fat butter and last of the homemade raspberry jam on to a piece of warm toast and you drop it. You just KNOW when you look down to the floor which side of that toast will be looking back up at ye.
