is a word ....
....... I appear to be using a lot just now.
Along with fankle (muddle), wheesht (a plea for silence/"be quiet"), skelf (splinter), breeks (trousers), laldy (giving it your 'all') and countless others dreich is one of those old Scots words still commonly in use today. (or maybe it's just me that's common and using them!) There is no other word better to describe the weather when it is as miserable as it was today.
The staff and residents at Camphill Blair Drummond had been looking forward to their annual pancake races today but unfortunately for the third year in a row it had to be held indoors in the gallery because of the dreich weather.
A great time was had by all.
