Cholla

These inch and a half spines are the up close and personal view of a Teddy Bear Cholla. From a distance the plant looks soft and cuddly. The bad news is that the spines are barbed and separate easily from the plant to remain in the person that dares to touch. These plants are included in the warnings for riders in the 24 Hour Mountain Bike Race.
